General Overview of Coyote, California

Coyote is located in Santa Clara County, California and is considered to be an unincorporated community. More specifically, it is located in Santa Clara Valley alongside Coyote Creek, hence its name. While it is mostly located in between Morgan Hill and San Jose, a small part of it is actually within the City of San Jose technically.

The total population of Coyote is 1,465 people, which has more or less remained the same, give or take a few hundred, since 2000. However, with San Jose excelling economically, the population is expected to increase in the coming years by those looking for more affordable housing.

The median age of Coyote is 42. This is above the State of California’s median age of 33.3 years and the national average of 37.2 years. But Coyote’s location means that plenty of young people surround it in San Jose.

Originally, the community was called Burnett, but the residents changed it to Coyote due to the abundance of coyotes in the area. Coyote was notable for being the location of the Seventeen Mile House. This was a stagecoach station in the middle of the 1800s that was on the Butterfield Overland Mail.

Today, it still houses the Grange Hall, a historic building that was used as a meeting point for those in the community.

Grange Hall was first built in 1902, thanks to Fiachro Fisher, who donated the land from his Coyote Valley residence. In 1925, the Coyote Grange Chapter was founded and used Grange Hall for its meetings. Today, the building is still in use, as it has now been purchased by the organization.

The Metcalf Energy Center is also located in Coyote.

At one point, Coyote almost ceased to exist when U.S. Route 101 was rerouted into a freeway, as San Jose wanted to absorb the entire city. However, when the dot-com bubble burst in the early 2000s, the City of San Jose cancelled its plans. To this day, though, it still owns much of the land.

Coyote’s median household income today is $86,677. This is much higher than the State of California’s median household income of $58,328 and the national median household income of $53,046.

Just like with San Jose, the residents of Coyote are very well-to-do.

Due to the small size of Coyote and its location, detailed crime statistics are not available for it. Instead, Santa Clara County crime rate data is used instead. Santa Clara County’s crime rate index is 43, meaning that it’s safer than 43% of the cities in the United States.

Coyote is a relatively safe area and has better crime rates than the State of California’s average and the national average. Yet being by a major city such as San Jose does put it at risk for certain crimes.

First Security understands the security needs of Coyote and Santa Clara County in general and will be able to provide the very best in security services.

Coyote Residential, Retail, and Personal Security Services

First Security can help protect those in Coyote by providing the following specific security services:

  • Residential Security: The residents of Coyote often commute to San Jose on a daily basis for work and leisure. In that sense, Coyote is a sort of bedroom community. The above-average wealth of its residents does mean that they are at risk, namely because their homes are often vacant during the day when they commute to work. First Security Services can make sure the area is secure through security patrol services.
  • Food & Beverage Security: Coyote does have some restaurants, bars, and cafes, though most of the residents commute to San Jose for a better selection. Nonetheless, some of the major ones are the Good Fork California Bistro Bar & Grill, Baja Fresh Mexican Grill, and Marie Callender’s. First Security Services can provide security either during their hours of operation or after-hours.
  • Points of Interest Security: Some of the main points of interest in Coyote are Coyote Creek Golf Club, Almaden Quicksilver County Park, and Coyote Hills Regional Park. There are a variety of day trips outside of Coyote that are very popular and interesting for both residents and for tourists.
  • Marijuana security

By hiring First Security, companies, organizations, and institutions, both of the private and public variety, will be able to ensure that they’re provided professional protection in regards to:

  • Vandalism
  • Theft
  • Intrusions
  • Employee Safety
  • Customer Safety
  • Violent Crimes

Residents in Coyote should consider hiring First Security patrol services to make sure that their community and their homes always remain safe. In addition, a great service, especially given how small Coyote  is, would be to install alarm systems. By installing the alarm systems, you will have 24/7 monitoring and will have the authorities at your doorstep as fast as possible should any break-ins occur!

What makes First Security stand out is that every single First Security officer has been trained extensively on weaponry, restraining strategies, and combat PLUS the ability to peacefully resolve situations. First Security works with each and every company to find out their particular security needs and what they expect the service to entail, even as it pertains to the behavior of the First Security officers.
