First Alarm’s Cal Horton Awarded Lifetime Achievement Award By CALSAGA

The California Association of Licensed Security Agencies, Guards, and Associates (CALSAGA) recently awarded their security professional of the year award at their annual conference in San Diego. We are happy to announce that the winner of this year’s Al Howenstein Lifetime Achievement and Security Professional of the Year Award is non other than Cal Horton, the President of our sister company, First Alarm Security & Patrol Inc.

Since 2008, CALSAGA has recognized one professional in the private security industry each year that exemplifies professionalism, leadership and integrity. The award’s namesake, Al Howenstein, was a founding member of CALSAGA and received the first award in 2008. Since then, the award has become a lifetime achievement award in addition to honoring the top security professional of the year. Qualifications for the award are based on security professionals that exhibit the following traits:

  • Work as a liaison between the public and private security industries

We commend Cal for winning this prestigious award and thank him for his tireless work in helping improve the overall state of the private security industry, as well as the profile of First Alarm and First Security Services. Cal has been with First Alarm since 1987, when he started as the Security Manager. Cal has written extensively in industry publications about topics ranging from property security to operational protocols.
